Honoring Ukrainian culture and traditions and the memory of those interned is the focus of the summer readings of Kalyna.
July 2nd: I was thrilled to meet Canmore residents and people from all over the world at Cafebooks in Canmore. A friend, Janet Steeves, prepared this collage to remember this special afternoon. Thank you to everyone who stopped by especially Halya, Yuliana, Mary, K&K, and Linda.
This weekend, Doug Morrison, fellow Stonehouse author, and I will be reading and discussing our books at Mary C. Moore Library in Lacombe, Alberta. Please join us in the library for a great afternoon featuring Course Correction and Kalyna!
Readings in August take me north of Lacombe to Andrew, Alberta, Edmonton, Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village and Redwater where I will be participating in festivals and readings. Saturday, August 21st at 1:30, please join me at the Babas and Borshch Festival in Andrew in the Grand Hall. Stay for the Zabava! Details here.
I love history, art and literature and bring all three to my writing and teaching. I believe in the power of story and encourage you to share your own story.
